New episode RUG & Co. podcast: healthcare in the German-Dutch border region Cross-border healthcare: a distant dream or closer than we think? In this new episode, we discuss the Cross-border Institute of Healthcare and Prevention (CBI) and how this institute can further advance cross-border healthcare.

Our guests are Adriana Peréz Fortis, coordinator of the CBI on the Dutch side, and Lars Schwettmann, a member of the CBI steering group. Together, we discuss developments in cross-border healthcare and the steps that have already been taken. What exactly is their view of the healthcare system in these two countries, and how can we learn from each other’s best practices?

In 2025, CBI’s flagship project, Health4DE-NL, received a multi-million-euro grant from the Interreg VI Germany–Netherlands programme, the European Union, the niedersächsische Staatskanzlei, and the provinces of Groningen and Fryslân. What opportunities does this make to healthcare more accessible to residents in the border region? This and, of course, much more in this new episode!

Listen to the episode on the Cross-border Institute of Healthcare and Prevention from Wednesday 18 March.
