Every spring, the Blaauw Observatory participates in the National Stargazing Days, a weekend full of astronomical activities throughout the Netherlands. The Blaauw Observatory (Bernoulliborg, Nijenborgh 9) is open for the public on Saturday 28 February 2026 between 6.30 p.m. - 11 p.m. Entrance to the event is free, so don't hesitate to come and enjoy guided tours, planetarium shows, lectures, quizzes and craft corner!

Programme

Even with bad weather, the observatory can be visited for a guided tour. In this case beautiful images of the universe made with the Gratama Telescope of the Blaauw Observatory are shown. You may also join a virtual journey through the universe in the Kapteyn Mobile Planetarium. You will need a ticket for both the observatory and planetarium activities. You don’t need a ticket for the lectures. You can also visit the craft corner without a ticket and if the weather is good, you can look at the stars outside through a telescope.
