UG at Noorderzon 2025

This summer, the RUG and the UMCG are again present at Noorderzon. Join discussions with scientists and attend interesting lectures.

Noorderzon “Festival of Performing Arts & Society” is one of the biggest festivals in the city of Groningen. This year, the festival takes place from 15 to 24 August.

No Dutch? No problem!

Programme for non-Dutchies

Noorderzon is for everyone. Even if you don't speak a word of Dutch. The festivals has curated a broad and diverse selection of performances and events that are either spoken in English, subtitled in English, or where language plays little to no role at all. There’s plenty to explore without needing to understand Dutch.

• Style & Society: Hiphop. Dastan Abdali, Sherlock Telgt, Evelyn Andoh and Annemiek Rosaria in association with Arts in Society/UG at 9 p.m.

Sunday 17 August

• Style & Society: Punk. Kim Hoorweg and Rens Dietz in association with Arts in Society/UG at 9 p.m.

Tuesday 19 August - zaterdag 23 August

• Flash lectures by Young Academy Groningen. Get updated in 15 minutes. At 4 p.m. of 5 p.m. (Dutch/English)

Thursday 21 August

• What's the Taste of Our Clothes? UG-researchers María Pilar Uribe Silva and Harm Coordes at 3 p.m.

Sunday 24 August

• ReCharge & ReSearch - Immerse yourself in hypnotic music and visuals. Delic & Huda in association with University of Groningen om 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
