UG obtains high scores in reputation study of Dutch universities
The University of Groningen (UG) obtained high scores in a reputation study of Dutch universities, carried out by market research agency Markteffect. The Dutch secondary school pupils who participated gave the University above average scores on all researched degree choice aspects.
In the reputation study, carried out on behalf of several universities in the Netherlands, secondary school pupils were asked about various aspects influencing their choice of degree programme. This includes study support and the quality of teaching. It showed that the UG scored especially well when compared to other universities.
The University scored above average on all ten researched degree choice aspects.
Additionally, the University comes out on top in several aspects. Apparently, secondary school pupils associate these topics with the UG the most. This concerns, for example, the quality of the lecturers, the pupil’s expected difficulty level, and safety at the University. According to the pupils, the atmosphere at the UG is also better than at other universities, and the UG offers a higher level of autonomy.
The results are based on a nation-wide sample of 1733 respondents, with a margin of error of only 2%.
