UG unveils eight new professor portraits

On the evening of Thursday 11 January, the UG unveiled eight new professor portraits that will hang in the Senate Room and the faculty rooms in the Academy Building of the University.
Senate Room
This year, four professors had their portrait taken because of their exceptional achievements in their field. The portraits are intended for the Senate Room. The Senate Gallery will see the addition of the portraits of Nobel Prize winner Ben Feringa, anthropologist Marjo Buitelaar, religion psychologist Hetty Zock, and genetic epidemiologist Marike Boezen, who passed away in 2021.

At the initiative of friends, family, or colleagues, four emeritus professors donated a portrait to the University: orthopedic surgeon Ron Diercks, mathematician Arjan van der Schaft, art historian Henk van Veen, and historian Edzo Waterbolk, who passed away in 2000.
