Shorttrack star and UG student Xandra Velzeboer wins four gold medals at World Championships in Seoul
UG student Xandra Velzeboer still finds it hard to believe. Last weekend she won no less than four gold medals at the World Shorttrack Championships in Seoul. She won the gold medal in the 500 meters on Saturday, and also received the gold medal for the 1000 meters, the mixed relay and the women's relay on Sunday. The 21-year-old Velzeboer says that after winning four world titles she no longer feels like an up-and-coming talent. Her goal now is to stay at the top. In addition to her sports career, Velzeboer studies Life Science and Technology at the UG. Watch the video of Velzeboer's reaction to her win in the 1000 meters on de NOS website.
