Wim van Saarloos to receive honorary doctorate from University of Twente

Prof. Wim van Saarloos, member of the Supervisory Board of the UG, will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Twente. On 26 November, the university will award four honorary doctoratesto commemorate its 60-year anniversary. The honorary doctorates are being awarded to individuals regarded by the University of Twente as important ambassadors who are committed to a fair, sustainable, and digital society and to entrepreneurship.
Van Saarloos (1955) is a theoretical physicist. He was chair of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) until June 2020 and has led the Dutch Research Council (NWO). On 1 January 2021, he joined the Supervisory Board of the University of Groningen.
