What is your faculty doing to promote sustainability?
Did you know that....
- the Faculty of Theology and Religious Sciences has provided each student with a mug, to minimize the use of disposable cups?
- University College has a snack vending machine containing only healthy options?
- at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, old furniture and computers aren’t thrown away, but instead delivered to second-hand shops?
Read about this and other news in the ‘Sustainability in the Faculties’ report, put together by the Green Office.
During 2018, the Green Office visited all faculties, to conduct interviews with a respective director of education, facility manager and student assessor. The interviewees gave us a summary of what their faculty is already doing to promote sustainability, but also the opportunities that they still see and the wishes that they have. There are considerable differences between faculties, but it was stimulating to see that sustainability is taken seriously across the UG and that measures have been applied to promote sustainable education.
All the interviews have been compiled into a report. We hope that this will offer faculties an opportunity to learn from one another, to share inspiration and to create concrete solutions with other faculties. We will continue to conduct these interviews this year, so that the information can be updated.
Are you curious about the report and do you want to find out how your own faculty is dealing with sustainability?
