Brexit: no immediate consequences for our current British students
The Board of the University has taken note of the result of the UK referendum on EU membership. We expect to remain an attractive university for British students after the Brexit.
The University of Groningen knows the British higher education market well. We do market research on a regular basis and attend information fairs to recruit students. The University of Groningen also organizes a special open day for UK students who are interested in our English-taught degree programmes. This approach is successful, we have seen a large increase registrations from British students.
It is not yet clear whether Brexit will have consequences for the level of British students’ tuition fees. This will depend on the negotiations between the UK and the EU. We do not expect there to be any changes for our current British students in the short term.
