This thesis provides a unified understanding of the relationship between growth mechanisms, surface chemistry, and material properties in III–V quantum dots. By combining mechanistic studies with targeted surface engineering strategies, this work establishes design principles for the synthesis of high-quality nanocrystals with controlled size, composition, and surface functionality. The insights gained not only address longstanding challenges in the field but also pave the way for the development of environmentally benign semiconductor nanomaterials for applications in optoelectronics
