Saint Patrick's Day at UCG
Today, on the 17th of March, we celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day at UCG. A holiday focussed on Ireland’s foremost patron saint (who apparently banished all snakes from Ireland). People who celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, usually do so by wearing green and enjoying real Irish beverages. After the great success of last year, it has now become a UCG tradition to celebrate this day together. Led by UCG’s own Irish staff and students, the whole community is working hard to make this day a feast. The whole building is covered in green decorations, and staff and students are preparing a true Irish meal, stew and potatoes, for 70 people. After dinner a pubquiz is organised, where fun can be had under the pleasure of a glass of Guinness and Irish scotch.
