Research interests

My research focuses on “The Role of Energy System Modeling and Open Science: Exploring Local and Sector-Specific Solutions, Strategies, and Environmental Impacts”. Along this research topic, I am interested in the following questions:

– How to develop robust, collaborative, and transparent models capable of effectively addressing the complexities of coupled and large-scale future energy systems?

– How can energy models and data capabilities contribute to the energy system resilience in the face of unforeseen disruptive events, such as geopolitical conflicts and extreme weather events (e.g., heatwaves)?

- How can we provide extensive, scientifically robust, and transparent insights that contribute to the successful implementation of the energy transition, particularly at the local and regional levels, to serve the interests of diverse stakeholders?

– What is the impact of climate change on energy production, consumption, and transport?

Moreover, two of my passion topics are: Geographic Information System (GIS) and Open Science and how they can be used in the context of energy system modelling to help with the energy transition.
