dr. W.J.P.J. (Wiljo) van Hout

Dr. Wiljo van Hout studied Mental Health Sciences at Maastricht University. Before graduating with a Master's degree, she completed several research traineeships. In 2000, she obtained her Doctoral degree at Groningen University on Cognitive processes during exposure in vivo therapy in agoraphobia under the mentorship of prof. Paul Emmelkamp. At Groningen University she worked as a postdoctoral fellow and coordinator of the Postgraduate Training Institute in Groningen. She is currently working as an assistant professor in the department of Clinical Psychology and as researcher within the Experimental Psychopathology group of the Heymans Institute for Psychological Research at the University of Groningen. In addition, she is a registered healthcare psychologist, cognitive behavioral therapist and supervisor VGCt. In this position she also works within a TOP-mental health department of a specialized mental health institution.
