I am Professor (Adjunct Hoogleraar) of Inclusive Developmental and Educational Interventions.

My research focuses on how educational and care environments can better support children and young people with diverse abilities and support needs.

One of my key areas of interest is the use of animals in care settings, where animals can foster safety and connection through their presence and non-verbal communication. In addition, I work on other innovative, less language-dependent approaches, such as the use of robotics.

I also value working with participatory research methods and involving experience experts, with the aim of contributing to better-aligned education and care for as many children as possible.
