Dr. Scott Eldridge II is an assistant professor (UD1; Senior Lecturer UK Equivalent) with the Centre for Media and Journalism Studies at the University of Groningen. He was previously a full-time Lecturer and researcher at the University of Sheffield, UK, Department of Journalism Studies (2014-2016). His research is in digital journalism studies and journalism studies, focusing on journalistic identities, boundaries, and particularly in conceptualizing and understanding the dynamics of interloping media actors and the journalistic field. He is author of Online Journalism from the Periphery: Interloper Media and the Journalistic Field (2018) and co-author with Miguel Santos-Silva of The Ethics of Photojournalism in a Digital Age (2020), co-editor with Patrick Ferrucci of The Institutions Changing Journalism (2022), with Martin Conboy of Global Tabloid: Culture and Technology (2021), and with Bob Franklin of the Routledge Companion to Digital Journalism Studies (2017), and Routledge Handbook of Developments in Digital Studies (2019). He is the Series Editor of the ‘Frontiers in Journalism Studies’ book series with Peter Lang. He was Associate Editor for Digital Journalism (2018-2021), and reviews editor for Digital Journalism (2013-2019). He sits on the editorial boards of Digital Journalism, the Journal of Applied Journalism & Media Studies, and Media and Communication.
