dr. P.J. Steinberg
Dr. Philip Steinberg is an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the Department of Innovation Management & Strategy, University of Groningen. Prior to joining, he completed his doctoral studies (~Ph.D.) at the Jackstädt Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research, University of Wuppertal (summa cum laude). During his doctoral studies, he visited the Department of Strategic Management and Globalization at the Copenhagen Business School. Philip holds a dipoma (~MSc) in Business and Management from University of Mannheim (cum laude).
Philip's professional career includes positions at the German carmaker AUDI, the Douglas Holding, a large service retailing group, the Innovation Institute in Frankfurt, and the Bültmann GmbH.
His broad research interests lie in the areas of innovation management, sustainability, and corporate strategy. Philip has received the FEB Necomer of the Year Award 2019. For his research, he has received the dissertation prize 2019 of the University of Wuppertal and the 3rd prize at the Best Paper Award "Innovation Management" 2018 by the University EBS and his work has been published in Research Policy and the Journal of Economic Psychology. He is serving as an ad-hoc reviewer for Research Policy, Industry & Innovation, Small Business Economics, and the Journal of World Business.
