dr. ir. P. Buijs

Assistant Professor Sustainable Logistics

Paul Buijs is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Operations, University of Groningen (the Netherlands). He received his MSc degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (2010) and a PhD degree (2014) from that same university. From May through August 2014, he was a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Administration Sciences at Université Laval, Canada.

Paul’s primary research interests are in sustainable logistics, including topics such as supply chain collaboration, sustainable innovation, and alternative fuel transportation systems. Most of his research projects are formulated and executed in close collaboration with partners from industry and the (semi-)public sector. His teaching centers around issues related to supply chain management and sustainability.

Paul authored several papers in journals such as Supply Chain Management: an International Journal, the European Journal for Operational Research, Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment, ´╗┐Flexible Services and Manufacturing´╗┐, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, the Journal of Business Logistics, and Interfaces
