How to find us dr. N.H. (Nanna) Hilton

dr. N.H. Hilton

Associate Professor
dr. N.H. Hilton

  • I am PI of "Stimmen fan Fryslân" a citizen science project documenting minority languages and gathering speech data for linguistic research and public use.
  • I am also project leader of Multilingual Melodies alongside Dr. Matt Coler. We work on phonological and prosodic traits in bilingual speakers and consider practical applications of this knowledge. The project focuses primarily on Frisian Dutch bilinguals, and our PhD student Amber Nota is working towards finding out whether prosodic traits can be recognised by sensor technology.
  • In addition I am involved with a number of other smaller projects, and supervise several research student projects on a master's and doctoral level. If you are interested in working with me on topics concerning citizen science, language variation and change, or sociolinguistics or prosody in general, please get in touch with me.
