  Mathilde van Dijk is an expert in both the history of late medieval reform movements and the appropriation of the (medieval) religious past in contemporary (popular) culture, in connection to genderstudies. Her specialty is immaterial heritage: how, again and again, Christian ideas are used and re-used in past and present cultures.
