Focus
My research focuses on individual differences in depression. During my PhD project I investigated the heterogeneity of depression in heart disease patients, exploring the hypothesis that different subtypes of depression are differentially associated with cardiac prognosis and response to depression treatment. For my current position as a post doc researcher I investigate the heterogeneity of depression in older persons in relation to cognitive functioning and dementia. For this purpose, I perform data-driven analyses on prospective cohort studies with multiple repeated measurements (including factor analysis, latent class analysis, and tree-modeling). In addition, I use idiographic study designs in which I perform time-series analyses on data from individual patients with multiple repeated measurements.
