Care2change is a large consortium focusing on on sustainable healthcare with just about all northern hospitals, local governments, knowledge institutions such as the University of Groningen and the Hanze university of Applied Sciences, and a number of healthcare companies. It is aimed at significantly reducing the pollution caused by healthcare and financially strengthening the Northern Netherlands region through the regional and circular production of healthcare products.
The work package I am responsible for aims to answer the following questions: How can information on environmental impacts be gathered at the hospital or regional level? And what is the environmental impact of future circular alternatives for medical products replacing conventional cradle-to-grave supplies? Both analyses will explicitly incorporate uncertainties related to materials, impacts, and usage to ensure robust insights.
