Research interests

During my PhD project, I will investigate the spatial distribution of various benthic communities of the North Sea bottom at the Dutch Continental Shelf and their resilience to natural and anthropogenic disturbances. This project is collaborative with a PhD in Yerseke (NIOZ) and a PhD in Delft (TU Delft), all three projects using different spatial scales to study benthic communities.
With multibeam scatter data (Delft), underwatervideo (me) and box core data (Yerseke), the total Dutch Continental Shelf is investigated, determining vulnerability of the various communities to ease environmental policy and management.
