Research interests

Assistant Professor Governance & Innovation; Programme Director MSc. Cultural Geography, Member of the Young Academy Groningen

My research focuses on the role of digital innovations for societal transformations to sustainability. Currently, I investigate the impact of digital technologies (blockchain/DLT, digital democratic innovations) on sustainability, climate finance, and democratic decision-making.

My empirical work benefits from a decade of experience in climate and environmental governance research, including urban adaptation, water governance, agriculture, and transformation research, with a particular focus on innovative participatory methods.

I have an interdisciplinary background in Politcal Science and Human Geography. From a theoretical perspective, I am interested in the Anthropocene, Diverse Futurisms, Politcal Ecology, and Decoloniality.
