J.E.H. (Juul) Kusters, MSc
Juul Kusters is a PhD candidate at the Department of Spatial Planning and Environment of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. As of November 2020 she is working as a PhD candidate researching potential allocation and accommodation of new forms of offshore energy storage and transport, in light of its uncertain environmental impacts, conflicting sea uses, and associated costs.
Specifically, she is focusing on the integration of hydrogen, offshore energy storage and multi-purpose interconnectors in the Dutch offshore energy system.
The PhD is part of the larger DOSTA (Developing Offshore Storage and Transport Alternatives) project consortium, where it takes care of the work package on marine spatial planning, environmental impact and locational choice.
