mr. dr. J. (Jamie) Behrendt

Jamie Behrendt is an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen, having previously conducted her PhD research at the Groningen Centre for Energy Law and Sustainability.

For her PhD, she empricially assessed how micro electricity grids should be regulated within the European Union to maximise legal certainty in the electricity sector and contribute effectively and efficiently to the energy transition.

She is now continuing her research on microgrids and decentralised electricity systems, while also teaching in bachelor's and master's degree programmes in EU law and energy law at the University of Groningen.
