I.J. (Irma) Bonvanie

In my PhD-project I investigate the effect of potential vulnerability factors (perfectionism, sleep problems) and stressors (sexual abuse, life events) on functional somatic symptoms in a large adolescent population cohort named TRAILS. Currently, I am in collaboration with the Research Clinic for Psychosomatics and Functional Disorders in Aarhus, Denmark, working on a review to evaluate the effectiveness of psychological treatments for functional somatic symptoms in children. In addition, I am involved in the development of an Ehealth intervention for adult patients with medically not well explained symptoms in primary care, entitled “Control over unexplained complaints”.
