S.H. Mohades Kasaei, PhD
My research interest lies at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and machine vision. My goal is to achieve a breakthrough by enabling robots to conceptualize new object categories and grasp affordances incrementally using a new type of open-ended machine-learning techniques. In particular, I would like to develop an assistive cognitive robot to help disabled and people with motor impairments to achieve independence in everyday tasks. This robot will be able to adapt to new environments by learning how to perform complex manipulation tasks and conceptualizing new object categories in an open-ended fashion.
