Giordano Magri (he/him) is a researcher and PhD candidate affiliated with the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), at the Faculty of Arts (Minorities & Multilingualism), and Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil).

With a background in Law and Public Administration, and with nearly ten years' experience as a civil servant, he brings an interdisciplinary perspective to his qualitative research on public policy implementation. His work focuses on the relationship between frontline state workers and disadvantaged groups, especially those who interact with both care services and repressive apparatuses.

For his PhD thesis, he conducted ethnographic research in Brazil's largest drug use scenario, investigating both the intertwined relationship between politics and public policy that promotes violence against disadvantaged groups, and the strategies these groups use to navigate public institutions.
