Mr. Changyuan (Leslie) Yang is a PhD candidate specializing in nephrology and pharmacoepidemiology under the supervision of Prof. Ron Gansevoort, Prof. Juan J Carrero, and Dr. Priya Vart. He has training in clinical epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, and causal inference.
His research primarily focuses on the epidemiology of acute kidney disease (AKD), both with and without acute kidney injury (AKI), as well as the prescription pattern, effectiveness and safety of treatments (e.g., SGLT2 inhibitor) in patients with type 2 diabetes or kidney disease, with a particular focus on older populations. He aims to integrate insights from clinical trials and observational studies to generate actionable findings that can inform clinical practice.
