B. (Bente) Ooms

Bente Ooms (2002) is a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen. She obtained her Master’s degree in History (Cultural History since 1750) from KU Leuven, with a thesis on the history of teenage motherhood in Flanders.

In her research project Pedagogies of the Naked Child, she focuses on the history of nudity in educational theory and practice between 1880 and 1960. She examines the pedagogical contexts in which nudity had a place and what this reveals about broader cultural and social ideas concerning childhood, the body, and education.
