Expertise
I study the neuromechanical changes underlying adaptation, for example in aging, rehabilitation and neuro-musculoskeletal disorders, to characterize the status of a (clinical) condition and improve health quality. Additionally, I aim to develop technologies for rehabilitation and health monitoring that rely on neuromechanical outcomes and help improve the quality of life of people with mobility impairments. Typical examples of my research are the study of upper limb biomechanics of people with muscle dystrophy and the performance analysis of pattern-recognition upper limb prostheses.
