40 years UG Science Shop

In 1975 dr. Hans Reddingius, professor of biology at the University of Groningen, wrote a note to the University Councel called "A university wide Science Shop?". The goal of this note was to improve the cultural and societal impact of science. Four years later, the University of Groningen Science Shops started. Now, 40 years later, six faculty science shops take on about 200 questions from civil society organisations. And with more than 300 students helping these organisations out, this is cause for celebration!

We want to celebrate 40 years science shops with the people who make science shops possible: you! We invite you for our poster day on Thursday 21st of March 2019 at 2 pm in the University Museum. On this day, students from the UG Science Shops wil present their research, you can talk to other colleagues or civil society representatives and enjoy a drink. The poster day ends at 5 pm. You can enroll for this day via the hyperlink below. See you there!
