Hackathon 1 and 2 March: 'Hack the Gap - Equal educational opportunities'

What makes you get the most out of your courses? Which circumstances in life, from baby to and including the student days, affect this? The municipality of Groningen and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, together with the University of Groningen and various other educational and research institutions, organize the educational hackathon 'Hack the gap: Equal educational opportunities'.
Program
The hackathon is on Friday 1 March from 8.30 to 23.00 and on Saturday 2 March from 8.30 to 17.00.
On the first day, participants start working with data files in teams to find links within the theme 'equal opportunities in education'. With the available open data (from, for example, CBS, DUO and Municipality) different approaches are possible, such as the home situation, health and poverty, but also development opportunities and the labeling of children on the basis of their (alleged) talents.
On the second day, the teams pitch their findings and the winning team is announced. The teams are also assessed on an action plan that explains how the findings can be further elaborated. The three winning teams will receive a nice prize. Participation in the Hackathon is open to lecturers, students, pupils, researchers, programmers, data analysts, experience experts, (youth) doctors, etc. Participants can register separately or as a team.
Participation
Participation in the hackathon is open to teachers, students, pupils, researchers, programmers and data analysts, experience experts, (youth) doctors, etc. In short, everyone who feels connected or is interested in this theme. All input is welcome!
We work in mixed teams with different expertise. Technical or content knowledge is therefore not required. To participate, you can register via Fikket. Liking this event or indicating that you are present is not enough. Do you want more information first? Mail your questions to hackthegap050 groningen.nl
