The small exhibition Makers of the UG in the University museum presents recent inventions and ongoing research by UG researchers.

UG researchers contribute to solutions for significant scientific and societal challenges across various fields, from medicine to energy. The exhibition shows newly developed measuring instruments for scientific research, as well as products designed to transform our daily lives.

Access to the University museum is free for; children (0-18 years), with a Museumcard or Stadjerspas, employees or students of the UG + UMCG. Access with CJP Cultuurpas; € 4,50. Regular tickets; € 7,50.

The Universitty museum is opened from Tuesday until Saturday from 11:00-17:00 and on Sunday from 12:00-17:00. More information about the accessibility of the museum.

Psychedelica zoals MDMA, LSD, ketamine en psilocybine worden steeds vaker ingezet als mogelijke behandelingen voor depressie en posttraumatische stressstoornis. Kunnen deze middelen de sleutel vormen tot doorbraken in de geestelijke gezondheidszorg? Hoe werkt dit precies? En welke risico’s kleven er aan psychedelica-onderzoek?

In dit Kenniscafé spreekt Jelte Posthumus met onder anderen psychiater Jeanine Kamphuis en docent-onderzoeker Verslavingskunde en Forensische Zorg Arne van den Bos over de rol van psychedelica in de behandelkamer. 

Jeanine Kamphuis is psychiater in het Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen, gespecialiseerd in stemmingsstoornissen en innovatieve behandelmethoden. Haar onderzoek richt zich op het gebruik van psychedelica en ketamine bij therapieresistente depressies. Daarnaast heeft ze interesse in slaap, chronobiologie en de relatie met stemmingsstoornissen.

Arne van den Bos is lid van de onderzoeksgroep Verslaving en Forensische Zorg aan de Hanze, docent toegepaste psychologie en heeft meerdere artikelen gepubliceerd over studenten en middelengebruik. Van den Bos is vooral geïnteresseerd in de mechanismen van verslaving en in samenwerking met organisaties om interventies te ontwikkelen die gericht zijn op schadebeperking.
