Opto-Spintronics of Nanostructures

We are a new group within the Physics of Nanodevices research unit focused on the interplay of light, spins and magnetism in nanostructures. We use magneto-optical effects (e.g. Kerr Rotation and Circular Dichroism) to study how spins and magnetism behave in low dimensions. For this we fabricate heterostructures composed of one or several van der Waals materials, and thin magnetic films.
