Prof. Erik van der Giessen elected 2026 ISMM Fellow

Prof. Erik van der Giessen, Emeritus Professor of Micromechanics of Materials at the Zernike Institute, has been elected a 2026 Fellow of the International Society of Materials Modeling (ISMM), one of the Society’s highest honors. The award recognizes his sustained contributions to materials modeling and his leadership, mentorship, and service to the international community. This distinction celebrates the enduring impact of his career in multiscale computational mechanics, dislocation plasticity, fracture, polymer composites, and micromechanobiology.
