Prof. Loredana Protesescu Awarded Alumni of the Year by University of Bucharest

Prof. Loredana Protesescu has been honored with the prestigious Alumni of the Year Award by the University of Bucharest. The award, presented by the Faculty of Chemistry and nominated by Prof. Simona Coman, recognizes Prof. Protesescu’s outstanding contributions to materials science and her enduring connection to the university.

Prof. Protesescu completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Bucharest, where she developed a deep passion for materials science. Reflecting on the award, she shared, “This recognition is truly close to my heart. It inspires me to further strengthen the ties between our institutions and continue collaborating with the exceptional mentors who shaped my academic journey.”

She extended her gratitude to her former professors, many of whom she remains in close contact with, particularly Prof. Camelia Bala and Prof. Simona Coman, for their mentorship and support.
