Zernike Institute postdoc Martin F. Sarott wins FSE Postdoc Award
Dr. Martin F. Sarott, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials, has received the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) Postdoc Award. He conducts his research in the Solid State Materials for Electronics group led by Prof. Beatriz Noheda and is also a member of CogniGron.

Dr. Sarott is recognized for his innovative research at the interface of quantum materials, optics, and energy-efficient computing. His work has led to pioneering experimental tools, including an in-situ technique to monitor functional properties during thin-film growth, which is now used internationally and has resulted in a successful spin-off company.
At Zernike, his Marie Curie project focuses on brain-inspired computing concepts using functional oxide materials, with the aim of developing faster and more sustainable alternatives to conventional electronics. In addition to his scientific excellence, the award highlights his strong leadership and active contribution to the research community.
