PhD Researcher Yun Hai Awarded Deeptech Pioneer Fellowship
Yun Hai, PhD researcher in the Nanomaterials Chemistry Group, has been awarded a Deeptech Pioneer Fellowship

This highly competitive fellowship recognizes early-career researchers whose innovative work has the potential to shape the future of technology and society. The program supports scientists in translating pioneering research into practical applications that have a societal and industrial impact.
Yun Hai was selected for his project on the development of an automated flow-based synthesis platform for producing lead-free infrared (IR) quantum dots with tunable optical properties for short-wave infrared (SWIR) applications. His research combines scientific excellence with entrepreneurial ambition, advancing sustainable materials for next-generation optoelectronic technologies.
The Deeptech Pioneer Fellowship provides targeted funding and mentorship to help researchers accelerate the transition from laboratory innovation to real-world solutions, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and entrepreneurship.
We extend our congratulations to Yun Hai and his supervisor Prof. Loredana Protesescu on this outstanding achievement and look forward to seeing the continued impact of their work in advancing deep technology innovation within the Zernike Institute and the broader scientific community.
