Herman Duim Graduate Student Award recipient for the 2020 MRS Spring Meeting

The Materials Research Society Awards Program has recently announced the Graduate Student Award Recipients. We are very proud that Herman Duim was awarded a Silver Award. Herman is PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Maria Antonietta Loi in the Photophysics and OptoElectronics Group.
The MRS Graduate Student Awards are intended to honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials research display a high order of excellence and distinction. MRS seeks to recognize students of exceptional ability who show promise for future substantial achievement in materials research.
Because of this commitment, MRS hosted a virtual competition in July. The highly recognized achievement of the MRS Graduate Student Award is a direct reflection on the outstanding education provided by each recipient’s institution.
The selection is highly competitive and receiving a gold or silver award is certainly one that one can reflect upon with pride for many years to come. Many of the previous winners have moved on to highly distinguished careers, as well as to leadership positions within the Materials Research Society.
A Graduate Student award recipient receives a Certificate and pin, along with a honorarium of $400 for Gold, $200 for Silver, and the Nowick recipient will receive $500 in addition to the award of Silver.
