Jan-Anton Koster, professor Physics of Novel Semiconductors and Devices, was awarded as best PhD supervisor 2018 of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Groningen. The Faculty of Science and Engineering has about 1300 academic staff of which about 300 act as PhD supervisors. The award is an initiative of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering (GSSE) and the PhD Council, in order to recognize the efforts made by the professors to effectively and pleasantly guide PhD candidates in this important phase of their careers and lives. The award is based on votes and answers of a poll among all ~1000 PhD students of the Faculty. Thus, quite an outstanding achievement: Congratulations Jan-Anton!
