Are you interested in applying your micro-/solid mechanics expertise to help fighting the world's no. 2 killer disease: cancer?
We have an opening in our group for a dedicated and skilled PhD student within the framework of a program together with colleagues from the Zernike Institute and the University Medical Center Groningen to study Cancer as a Materials Science Problem.
Your task will be to develop a multiscale model that links the mechanical properties of cells and their environment to the forces at the molecular scale that activate signalling pathways which determine the fate of the cell.
More details can be found [here].
