Title:
Radioactive molecular beams at CERN-ISOLDE
Abstract:
The ISOLDE facility at CERN provides radioactive ion beams of nuclides produced using the Isotope Separation On-Line (ISOL) technique. The formation of volatile molecules has been used to deliver beams of otherwise non-volatile elements, and molecular sideband extraction is also used as a technique to improve beam purity.
More recently, the availability of molecular beams provides opportunities for fundamental physics studies. This talk will present our work on molecular ion beam production at CERN-ISOLDE and an outlook towards developing beams for precision measurements.
