Title:

Extended Scalar-Tensor Theories of Gravity

Abstract:

In this talk I will present a general class of scalar-tensor theories that, even if characterised by higher order field equations, do not propagate extra dangerous degrees of freedom. The existence of a primary constraint indeed assures the absence of the Ostrogradsky mode. Moreover, I’ll discuss the connection with Horndeski theory or Lorentz breaking second order ones.
