Title:

Causality in 3D Massive Gravity Theories

Abstract:

I am going to talk about the paper arXiv:1602.03376. In that work we studied the constraints coming from local causality by analysing the sign of the Shapiro time delay that a particle gets when scatters with another, we faced this problem in two ways: one method is to consider the space-time created by a high energy particle (that turns out to be of shock-wave type) and compute the shock profile. The other method is to think of two gravitating massless particles and compute the scattering amplitude in the so-called “eikonal regime”.
