Real Estate & Housing

The theme ' Real Estate & Housing' comprises the topical analysis of property markets. Our research connects to issues challenging society today, including:

  • Access to Shelter and Affordable Housing
  • Consumption and Investment
  • Planning of Developments,
  • Transition to Sustainable Society.

We address these societal issues using innovative approaches, concepts and methodologies that are embedded in qualitative analysis within the field of urban planning and quantitative analysis within the field of urban economics. The methodologies that we adopt in our research range from the analysis of data using econometric tools to Geographical Information Systems (GIS). A key aspect of our research outcome is to deepen our understanding of the location choice of households and firms, the formation of property prices, and the functioning of real estate markets characterized by inertia, imperfect information and bounded rationality.
