July 2021. The projection of obesity prevalence for the United Kingdom by Fanny Janssen et al. (2020) is featured in the "National Food Strategy - The Plan" report, a government commissioned independent review into the food system in England/United Kingdom, which contains 14 recommendations to address the major issues facing the national food system: climate change, biodiversity loss, land use, diet-related disease, health inequality, food security and trade. March 2018 , The publication in Demografische Forschung Aus Erster Hand entitled "Weniger Alcohol, mehr Leben" [Less alcohol, more years of life] focused on our recently published work in International Journal of Epidemiology (Trias-Llimós et al. 2017). June/July 2017 , The Nature publication (and related Demos publication) on the maximum human life span resulted in various outreach activities, including interviews for CNN (Joop de Beer), LiveScience (Joop de Beer), Daily Mail (Fanny Janssen), BBC radio Scotland (Fanny Janssen), Channel 5 News (Fanny Janssen), Radio 2 (Joop de Beer), RTV Noord (Fanny Janssen), RTV Drenthe (Fanny Janssen) and news items for – among others -, the NRC Handelsblad, Dagblad van het Noorden, RTV Noord, consumed. April 2017, Fanny Janssen presented joint research with Joop de Beer (NIDI) on the future of life expectancy in the Netherlands to King Willem-Alexander. The King of the Netherlands visited the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI), a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), in his capacity as patron of the KNAW.

March 2017. The Pop Digest publication from Population Europe entitled "Better understanding of alcohol-related mortality trends in Europe: The role of cohort effects" focused on our recently published work in Addiction (Trias-Llimós et al. 2017).

2016

August 2016, Fanny Janssen organizes the VIDI workshop called ‘Improving Mortality Forecasts’ in Mainz, Germany, in collaboration with the EAPS Health, Morbidity and Mortality Working Group.
