2019 H.J. Backer Lecture on Fluorine Chemistry
The 2019 H.J. Backer Lecture will be given by Prof. Véronique Gouverneur from the University of Oxford. She is an expert in fluorine chemistry, working on developing novel synthetic methodologies for the preparation of fluorinated targets. She develops innovative fluorine chemistry for the preparation of fine enantiopure fluorinated building blocks and drug-type targets. The research programmes of her group are designed to build knowledge on how fluorinated stereogenic centres affect drug potency and other performance compounds.
The lecture will take place on November 15 th at 3pm (room 5161.0151) and will be followed by drinks in the open space nearby.
