Lesson suggestion for the mobile planetarium

There is a selection of lessons that could be given as a classical preperation and after-trajectory for the mobile planetarium. They have been developed by the European Space Education Resouce Office (ESERO) project, a collaboration between ESA, NSO and NEMO. ESERO provides support to teachers in primary and secondary education in the field of space and astronomy. ESERO does this by developing projects and teaching materials and by training teachers.

Preperation planetarium

Listed down are a number of suggestions for preperation lessons for the visit of the mobile planetarium:

group 1-2 (age 4-6): "Heel veel sterren"

(Note: The bright band in the semicircle on the 'praatplaat' of the starry sky it the Milky Way. This is our galaxy, a disc containing a bunch of stars of which one is the Sun. In the sky the Milky Way looks like an illuminated band around us. You will need a very dark night sky in order to see the Milky Way.)

group 3-4 (age 6-8): "Wat zie jij"

group 5-6 (age 8-10): "Grote en kleine planeten"

group 7-8 (age 10-12): "Hoe word je een ruimtevaarder?"

After-trajectory planetarium

Listed down are a number of suggestions for after-trajectory lessons, one possible way to process the visit of the mobile planetarium:

groep 1-2 (age 4-6): "De planeten"

groep 3-4 (age 6-8): "Zon, Aarde, Maan"

groep 5-6 (age 8-10): "Leven in het Melkwegstelsel"

groep 7-8 (age 10-12): "Leven in het Melkwegstelsel" (officially meant for group 5-6, but also very qualified for group 7-8)

These selected lessons do not take much time to prepare, except Leven in het Melkwegstelsel. This lesson requires good preparation, especially since many teachers will not have much knowledge about the Milky Way.
