Americas Research Collective

The Americanist Research Collective (ARC) is based at the Research Centre for Democratic Cultures and Politics (DemCP), University of Groningen. Founded in 2022, the Americanist Research Collective (ARC) inaugurated a new era of intellectual inquiry for the American Studies Program at the University of Groningen and its institutional partners. The ARC serves as a forum for bold critical inquiry into the cultures and politics of the Americas. The research of our collective spans disciplines. Bringing together a network of scholars from across campus with expertise in American Studies, Literary Studies, Film and Media Studies, History, and International Relations, the ARC fosters interdisciplinary discussion and collaboration.

The ARC also provides a platform for engaging scholars from the broader academic community. Since its inception, the ARC has hosted vibrant plenary talks, roundtables, works-in-progress sessions, panel discussions, symposiums, doctoral-student workshops, grant-proposal workshops, and research presentations by visiting scholars from universities across the world.
